MARY ESTHER, Fla.
Philip J. Gourlie, 77, of Mary Esther, Fla., passed away Nov. 21, 2008, in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Mr. Gourlie a former resident of Ohio, retired from General Telephone Co. of Ohio in 1988 and relocated to Mary Esther. Mr. Gourlie was born in Milo, Me., the first child of Percy J. and Hazel L. (Gittings) Gourlie.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary E. (Steffenhagen) Gourlie of Mary Esther; two daughters, Rochelle E. (William) Bricker of Brunswick, Ohio, and Suzanne K. Gourlie of Dayton, Ohio; two granddaughters, Mary L. Bricker of Brunswick and Alia E. Sission of Dayton; two sisters, Marjorie E. Fremion and Laura M. Roeser both of Ponce de Leon, Fla.; a brother, Roger (Irene) Gourlie of Douglas, Ga.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 6, 2008, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Walton Beach. Mr. Gourlie's ashes will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery in Milo.
