Norman Henry Young, 88, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., passed away Nov. 4, 2008, in Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Young was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Venice, Ohio, the son of Theodore and Mary Fox Young. He was a design draftsman by trade and worked many years in California and Ohio. After retirement, he moved to Ponce de Leon where he farmed 40 acres for approximately 20 years. He and his wife moved to DeFuniak Springs in 1978, where he was a member of Saint Margaret Catholic Church; he served on the building committee in 1986.

Mr. Young was an outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He was an avid fan of the Oakland Raiders where his nephew was a team player.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Mantey Young of DeFuniak Springs; sister Mildred; brothers, Jim (Mary Ann) and Raymond; sister-in-law, Enid Rose (Richard) Scheck; and brother-in-law, Edward.

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sandusky; the Rev. Phil Feltman will officiate.
