Rita M. Bertsch, 82, formerly of Bellevue, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Sandusky, the daughter of George and Dortha (Snyder) Good. She married Robert Bertsch Oct. 11, 1947, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sandusky; he preceded her in death Sept. 26, 2000.
Rita was a 1944 graduate of Sandusky St. Mary’s. She was employed with Union Bank as an assistant cashier until her retirement in 1986. Rita was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue, Altar Rosary Society, former Daughters of Isabella, Eagles Aerie 490 auxiliary and VFW Post 1238 auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and camping.
Survivors include her son, Dave (Linda) Bertsch of Alpharetta, Ga.; daughters, Kathy (Elbert) Bolen of Bellevue, Janet Welling of Pinehurst, N.C., and Sue (Bruce) Roth of Bellevue; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Donald (Pat) Good of Sandusky and George (Angie) Good of Sterling Heights, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, with a 3:30 p.m. Rosary service. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue, officiated by the Rev. Jonathan Wight. Burial will follow in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
