Lillie Bell Shephard, 69, of Sandusky, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, after struggling with alengthy illness.

Born July 9, 1939 in Cartersville, Ga., she gained great pleasure from being a caregiver and faithfully worked in the nursing home industry. Known for having her house spotless and everything in place, she had an awesome sense of style. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery of hats and scarves, playing games and shopping at "her" store. Lillie loved living life to the fullest; she was a loving mother and grandmother.

She leaves to cherish hermemory, Marion "Jim Dandy" Shephard; her son, Mark A. Ramsey of Sandusky; grandsons, Andreas I. David and Andorian J. Ramsey, both of California, and Derek A. Lanier, Sandusky; sisters, Lucy Bernice Irby, Maggie Josephine Golden, Wilene Brown and Mildred Mickles, and brothers, Willie "Bud" Marshall and Coleman "Fish"Marshall, all of Sandusky; godchildren, Bertha Diane Traylor, Tommy Brown, Doris Frazier, and Elder Willie Steve Irby, all of Sandusky, Larry Keys and Vera Gordon, both of Columbus, and Kristina Marshall, Michigan; special friends, Rosalind Coleman, Everline Cook, Rebecca Pace, and Dr. Claudet Smith;many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Larry, in infancy; parents, Coleman and Bertha (Hyatt) Marshall; sister, Mattie Mae Brown; maternal grandparents, Charles and Maggie Hyatt; paternal grandparents, Wade and Lizzie Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday in Emmanuel Temple Church, 128 E. Adams St., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at1 p.m. Saturday, with Bishop Rufus G.W. Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, ishandling arrangements.
