Donna Virginia Chapman, 86, Sandusky, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born in Byesville, Ohio, Aug. 28, 1922. She worked for the former Martin’s Restaurant in Sandusky, and retired in 1984 from the former Providence Hospital as a secretary.
Donna attended The Chapel, was a member of Order of Eastern Star, belonged to Oheb Shalom Sisterhood, Plumbrook Country Club, and loved golfing and sewing.
She is survived by her children, Stanley (Sue) Chapman and Col. Raymond (Tammy) Chapman, both of Navarre, Fla., Esther (Ted) Bartow of Strongsville, Ohio, and Benjamin (Tracy) Chapman, Barbara (Scott) Livingstine and Brenda (Dr. Robert) Rice, all of Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Nancy Chapman of Huron; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman ‘Jimmy’ Chapman in 1996; parents, Herman and Alberta (Wilson) Arthurs; stepson, George Chapman; two sisters; and two brothers.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home; Pastor Todd Nielsen will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
