LaVera C.E. (Zorn) Hagelberger, 96, of Jackson Center, Ohio, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at home.
She was born April 12, 1912, on Linker Road in Shelby County, Ohio, daughter of the late William A. and Amelia J.L. Helmlinger Zorn. She married Victor Leo Hagelberger June 24, 1933, and he preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1988. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Montra, Ohio, the Jackson Center Community Club and Senior Citizens of Jackson Center. Her hobbies were flowers and playing bingo.
She is survived by her daughter, Velda (Dale) Knief of DeGraff, Ohio; son, William Hagelberger of Castalia; grandchildren, Joanne (Doug) Cobb of Fremont, Patty (Chris) Gamble of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Emily (Tim) Davis of DeGraff, Bill (Kim) Hagelberger of Milan and John (Nancy) Hagelberger of Sandusky; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Irene, and daughter-in-law, Arleen Hagelberger.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Sanford Funeral Home, Jackson Center, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until funeral services at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Montra, Ohio. Pastor William Barrett will officiate. Interment will be in Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson, Ohio.
