Mae Meesig, 87, of Mentor, Ohio, and formerly of Norwalk, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
She was born June 24, 1921, in Cleveland and lived most of her life in Norwalk before moving to Mentor in 2005.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was a 1940 graduate of St. Paul High School and a graduate of Cleveland School of Cosmetology. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Meesig of Detroit and John (Paula) Meesig of Lakewood, Ohio; her daughters, Marilyn (Gene) Koby of Sandusky, Sharon (Tom) Miller of Milan and Mary Ann (Dennis) Jondle of Mentor; seven grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John "Jack" Meesig in 1992.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic School Library Fund or to the donor's favorite charity.
