Joyce R. Zuercher, 83, formerly of Sandusky, died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born March 11, 1925, in Toledo, she was the daughter of the late August and Lillian W. Zorn Troike.
Mrs. Zuercher was a retired secretary at Union Chain of Sandusky. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg where she was a member of Yesterday’s Teens, Young at Heart, Caring Couples Sunday school class, volunteered at the Helping Center and was a member of Hillbrook Merry Tillers Garden Club. Her interests included painting and the piano.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Loris William Zuercher; three daughters, Beth Anne Zuercher of Boiling Springs, S.C., Karen Lynne (Randy) Hammett of Wellford, S.C., and Martha Ellen Zuercher of Brandon, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kelly Jean Zuercher, Brian Loris Zuercher, Hannah Grace Zuercher, Ashley Nicole Hammett and Bradley Alexander Hammett; and one great-grandchild, Violet Ren Zuercher.
Visitation and services took place at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel in Spartanburg.
