Anne Louise Ziegler, 86, of Sandusky, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, in Parkvue Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Anne was born May 11, 1922, in Lexington, Ky. to E. Stuart and Ina (Colvin) Jones. She graduated from Henry Clay High School in 1940, and attended Transylvania College.
Anne was a Welcome Wagon hostess for more than 20 years and a receptionist for Dr. Edward Baxter for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Anne was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge.
Mrs. Ziegler is survived by her son, Wally (Carol) Ziegler of Sandusky; daughter, Marsha (Rob) Gerding of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Andy Ziegler of Sandusky, Betsey Ziegler of Orlando, Fla., Katie Gerding of Port Clinton and Steven (Angie) Gerding of Tiffin; and great-grandson, Ethan Gerding of Tiffin.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Ziegler; parents, E. Stuart and Ina (Colvin) Jones; brothers, Donald and Richard Jones; and sisters, Beverly Taylor, Norma Shields and a sister in infancy.
Visitation will take place 5-8 p.m. Friday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday in the funeral home; Pastor Bill Michaels will officiate. Interment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
