Mildred H. Rock, 95, of Monroeville, died Sunday morning, Oct. 5, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 30, 1912, in Republic, Ohio, and was a 1930 graduate of Thompson High School in Seneca County, Ohio. She owned the former Rock Inn Bar and Restaurant in Monroeville. Mildred had also worked at Vanson's Restaurant, Monroeville, and at General Electric, Bellevue. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Monroeville, a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Bellevue Eagles. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid card player.
She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Rock, whom she married May 20, 1953; two daughters, Leona Michaels of Tiffin, Ohio, and Gaylynn (Ron) Schafer of Monroeville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Edith (Dellinger) Hartzel, and a son-in-law, Paul Michaels in 2007.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 Broad St., Monroeville. The Rev. Amy C. Little will officiate. Burial will be in Block Cemetery, Republic.
