Alice Jean (West) McCoy, 82, of Milan, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, in Norwalk Memorial Home following a lengthy illness.
Alice was born to Clifton and Dortha (Holland) West, March 12, 1926. She graduated from Wellington High School in Wellington, Ohio, in 1944. Alice married Denzel McCoy, Sept. 2, 1945, and he survives.
Mrs. McCoy was secretary of Speedway Auto Stores, Incorporated, for eight years. She then co-owned and worked with her husband at Speedway Lawn and Garden from 1975 until her retirement June 1, 1988. Alice was a member of Edison Memorial United Methodist Church in Milan and of Eastern Star, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. McCoy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Denzel; sons, Larry (Mary) McCoy of Strongsville, Ohio and Wayne (Lynn) McCoy of Bellevue; grandchildren, Brendon (Stacey) McCoy of Stryker, Ohio, Brandy McCoy of Russells Point, Ohio, Dane McCoy of Russells Point and Niki McCoy of Bowling Green, Ohio; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Howard (Nettie) West of Medina, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Dortha (Holland) West; and brother, LeRoy West.
Friends may call 1-5 p.m. Sunday in Groff Funeral Home, One S. Main St., Milan. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey Stoll officiating. Interment will be in Milan Cemetery.
