Kenneth A. ‘Ken’ Patsch Sr., 88, of Sandusky, passed away late Monday evening, Sept. 29, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born in Sandusky, March 3, 1920. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry serving during World War II in Africa, Italy, Scotland and Ireland. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars. Ken owned and operated Patsch’s Garage for more than 35 years, retiring in 1994.
He was truly dedicated to his family and loved them very much. He loved building and flying airplanes, which he did from 1946-1994, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycles. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Experimental Aircraft Association.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth ‘Dusty’ (Judith) Patsch Jr., of Berlin Heights; daughters, Jacquie (Steve) Montelauro of Catawba Island and Suzanne (Don) Mather of Sandusky; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Thirley M. Borsick of Sandusky and Audrey Rogers of Bay View; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna M. (Hughes) Patsch, Oct. 23, 2005; son, David Patsch, 1992; parents, Joseph and Mary (Singer) Patsch; and brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:40 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky; the Rev. Marty Nassr will officiate. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Sandusky.
