Marie E. Babcock, 85, of Sandusky, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
She was born June 15, 1923, in Toledo. She was a homemaker and was employed as a nurse at the former Good Samaritan Hospital, Sandusky, and also worked for Barr Rubber and Apex. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky, and formerly was a member of Perkins Township Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, and helped with Perkins Schools and the election poll at Venice School.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Robert) Reardon of Sandusky; son, Michael Dean (Patricia) Babcock of Norwalk; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; sisters-in-law, Esther Keating and Audrey Shafer, both of Sandusky; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. "Dutch" Babcock; and a sister-in-law, Naomi Thompson.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. Wednesday until funeral services at 7 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery
