Joseph William Marley, 87, of Bellevue, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, in Bellevue Care Center.
He was born July 22, 1921, in Wellington, Ohio, the son of Charles and Blanche (Lupica) Marley.
He was a 1939 graduate of Wellington High School, and served in World War II with the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre for two years as a petty officer first class. He received his bachelors’ degree in 1966, and master’s degree in 1971, from Bowling Green State University. Upon graduation, he taught for 24 years at Holy Angels until his retirement in 1985. He was a draftsmen and wood pattern maker. Mr. Marley was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue, and VFW Post 1238 of Bellevue.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Rose (Muscetta) Marley, whom he married in 1947 in Bellevue; numerous nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Louise Marley of Maui, Hawaii, and Vera Marley of Ft. Worth, Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Marley and Tony Marley; sisters, Rose Reale and Mary Delia; and brother-in-law, Frank Muscetta.
Friends will be received 5-8 p.m. Monday in Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where a rosary service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Church, 231 East Center St., Bellevue, officiated by the Rev. Jonathan Wight. Burial will follow in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
