Marian (Waldock) Lorenzen, 99, of Sandusky, died early Wednesday morning, Sept. 17, 2008, in Providence Care Center, after a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 7, 1909, in Sandusky. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the YMCA Senior Women, and the local blind group. She retired from JC Penney after 22 years of service as a salesperson. She enjoyed sewing and doing alterations for the local community.
Mrs. Lorenzen is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Vernard) Knoll of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Tom, Mike, Jim and Diane Knoll; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher and David Knoll, Timothy Knoll, Rebecca Moss, Jade and Tai Knoll, Kimberly (Beth) Comparette and Joseph Comparette; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lorenzen in 1974; one daughter, Verna Jean Lorenzen in infancy; her parents, William and Ida (Erbe) Waldock; one grandson in infancy; one sister, Lucille Hughes; two brothers, Frederick P. and William L. Waldock; and her son-in-law, Vernard Knoll.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday. Pastor Ken Hiser of Faith Memorial Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery.
