Robert C. Windau, 68, of Sandusky, died early Tuesday morning, Sept. 16, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Sandusky, March 14, 1940. He was a 1958 graduate of Sandusky High School. Bob was self-employed as a videographer, videotaping depositions for the Erie County Court System, and retired in 1997.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and past member of Lion's Club. He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene (Spring) Windau; daughter, Carla (Joseph) Dupont of Vickery; four grandchildren, Brittany, Jacob, Carly and Benjamin Dupont; sister, Marilyn (Charles) Smith of Sandusky; two brothers, James "Jim" Windau of Orlando, Fla., and Thomas (Joyce) Windau of Sandusky; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon J. and Agnes (Manner) Windau; two brothers, Richard and Leon (Joe) Windau; and brother, Jack, and sister, Carol, in infancy.
Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
