Judith E. Weaver, 76, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly late Monday afternoon, Sept. 15, 2008, at her home.
She was born in Akron, Ohio, Aug. 11, 1932, and was raised in Nelsonville, Ohio. She was a 1950 graduate of Buchtel-York High School in Nelsonville. She worked for General Electric in Cleveland for six years. After her marriage to Dow J. Weaver, Sept. 14, 1957, the couple moved to Sandusky. She worked for nearly 30 years at Sandusky Plastics before retiring in 1997, and then worked part-time at Cedar Point Amusement Park.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1957, United Methodist Women, Church Women United, and Southgate Pinochle Club since 1961.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dow J. Weaver Sr.; two daughters, Marylu (Jim) Meagher of Atascadero, Calif., and Cindi (Ed) Toll of Sandusky; son, Dow J. Weaver Jr. of Sandusky; five granddaughters, Tera Cooper, Kristin Weaver, Kelsey, Colleen Meagher and Mackenzie Toll; two sisters, Pam Lyall of Nelsonville and Sylvia McIntyre of Cleveland; two brothers, Charles (Martha) Newlun and Edward Newlun, both of Nelsonville; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Webster and Mary (Betts) Newlun; brother, Daniel Newlun (1994); and maternal grandparents, Charles and Anna (Barnes) Betts.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Additional visitation will take place from 10 a.m., Friday, until funeral services at 11 a.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church, 214 E. Jefferson St., Sandusky; Pastor Robert J.
