Edmund D. Guy, 91, of Sandusky and formerly of Toledo, died Sunday evening, Sept. 14, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 19, 1917, in Toledo. Ed was a five-year veteran of W.W. II, serving in the last Cavalry of the U.S. Army.
At the end of the War he participated in the release of the horses back into the wild. He was employed with Allied Chemical Company (Plaskon) in Toledo, until he retired in 1975. After retirement he worked for Ohio Citizens Bank in Toledo. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Judy (Richard) Kinzel of Sandusky and Sue Smith of Toledo; six grandchildren, Brett Kinzel, Bart Kinzel, Guy Stout, Stefanie Stout, Stacy Boals and Derrek Kinzel; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Gertrude; his son-in-law, Warren (Bud) Smith; his parents, Michael Gajewcz and Helen (Grzegorek) Gajewcz Kaisor; his stepfather, Vincent Kaisor; a brother; three half brothers; and one half sister.
A private funeral mass will be Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky.
The Rev. Dave Nuss will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Toledo.
