Janine M. (Ruffing) Korte, 45, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly late Saturday morning, Sept. 13, 2008, at her home.
She was born April 27, 1963, in Sandusky, and was a 1981 graduate of St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Korte; daughter, Ashlee Albert; stepdaughter, Amber Smith; parents, Ray and Jeanette (Pohlman) Ruffing; sister, Joyce Sehlmeyer; brother, Roger Ruffing; nephew, Jason Sehlmeyer; nieces, Jessica and Jodi Sehlmeyer; Ashlee’s father, Mike Albert; Ashlee’s grandmother, Pat Day; uncles and aunts, Dave and Delores Pohlman, Herman and Arlene Pohlman, Richard Booth, Jim and Margaret Ruffing, Ed and Ruth Hopper, Pete and Lu Ruffing and Tom “Butch” Ruffing.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Werner and Pauline Ruffing; maternal grandparents, Vincent and Luella Pohlman; maternal stepgrandmother, Lucille Pohlman; and aunt, Mary Ann Booth.
At her request, cremation will take place. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday in the David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home; the Rev. David Nuss of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate. Entombment will be later in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
