Jack Dee Bledsoe, 65, of Downey, Calif., passed away Aug. 30, 2008, following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Big Stone Gap, Va. He lived in the Sandusky area in his early adult years until settling in California.
He was a member of the Boilermakers Union for 35 years and a member of the American Legion.
Jack is survived by his wife of 39 years, Edelia Paiz Bledsoe of Downey; daughter, Geoa Bledsoe of Toledo, Ohio; seven sons, Jack Jr., Christopher and Ricky Bledsoe, all of Sandusky, David Bledsoe of Downey, Vincent Michel of North Carolina, Gilbert Michel of Templeton, Calif., and Robert Michel of Chula Vista, Calif; 20 grandchildren; mother, Gladys Bledsoe of Huron; sisters, Shelvie Neioller of Sandusky and Lorene Jerome of Castalia; and brothers, Carlos and Ted Bledsoe, both of Sandusky, and Bill Bledsoe of Castalia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vilos Bledsoe in 1985.
He was laid to rest Sept. 5, 2008, in Coachella Valley Cemetery, Coachella, Calif. Friends may call from 7 p.m. Thursday until memorial service at 8:30 p.m. in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.
