Marilyn M. Sterrett, 70, of Vermilion, died at home Monday, Sept. 8, 2008.
She was born Feb. 17, 1938, in Huron, and lived in Vermilion for over 50 years. She was a 1956 graduate of Berlin Heights High School. She worked with her husband for 16 years at their family business, Vermilion Engineering, and at Goodwill in Vermilion for over four years. She played on a number of bowling leagues at Lake Erie Lanes for many years. She loved cooking and collecting cookbooks and recipes, played several musical instruments, specifically piano and accordion. She loved working at the computer making her own greeting cards.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard; three daughters, Tammy Tressler and fiancé John Perry of Vermilion, Deborah (Timothy) Hill of Elyria, and Sharon (Tom) Stehley of Vermilion; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Novotny of Amherst and Virginia Daniels of Berlin Heights; sister-in-law, Wilma Schuh; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a child in infancy; her parents, Gilbert and Henrietta (Hummel) Schuh; brothers, Bernie and Larry Schuh; and brothers-in-law, Sid Daniels and Al Novotny.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St., Berlin Heights, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow at Peaks Cemetery. Immediately following the graveside services, everyone is invited to the Berlin Heights Conservation Club on Chapin Road for lunch and fellowship.
