Donald R. Klein, 77, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, in Flower Mound, Texas.
He was born April 10, 1931, in Sandusky, the son of the late Fred and Betty Leona (Krieger) Klein. He was a graduate of Sandusky High School and Ohio Northern University. Don served in the U.S. Marines in the Korean War and enrolled in the College of Engineering at ONU upon his return from Korea. His work experience included Sheller Globe and Fram/Honeywell, where he retired in 1996.
Don was a member of VFW, American Legion, Elks Lodge and the Jaycees. Don's hobbies were woodworking, cooking, camping and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (Meier) Klein of Greenville; son Rob (Linda) Klein of Flower Mound; daughter, Jodi (Jeff) Gifford of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren, Dr. J.B. (Laura) Stephenson of Milwaukee, Christopher B. Stephenson of Dallas and Joseph R. Klein of Flower Mound.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. A graveside memorial service will be at noon Saturday at Greenville Cemetery New Section, with the Rev. Joseph Payne officiating. Burial will be with full military honors conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
