Arthur J. Bertsch, 95, of Bellevue, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, in The Bellevue Hospital.
He was born Nov. 28, 1912, in Franks, Ohio, the son of the late John and Loretta (Michaels) Bertsch.
Arthur was a retired car inspector for NKP and N&W railroads and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, K of C and Eagles Aerie 490.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Rose (Swartz) Bertsch, whom he married Oct. 13, 1956, in St. Sebastian Church; daughter, Donna (Steve) Hirt of Elloree, S.C.; grandson, Josh Hirt of Bellevue; and granddaughter, Theresa Laux of San Diego, Calif.
In addition to his parents, eight brothers, Edward, Albert, Lee, George, Richard, Herman, Walter, Robert; two sisters, Gertrude Ecos and Cordula Wise; and his grandson, Kevin Hirt, preceded him in death.
Friends will be received 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Monday in Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue; the rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue; the Rev. Jonathon Wight officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
