SANDUSKY

Alberta K. (Michel) Riedy, 85, of Sandusky, formerly of Marblehead, passed away late Monday evening, Aug. 25, 2008, after a brief stay in Providence Care Center, Sandusky.

She was born March 18, 1923, in Sandusky, and was a 1941 graduate of St. Mary High School. She worked at Industrial Nut Corp. for many years before retiring. Mrs. Riedy and her husband, Clarence, co-owned and operated the Lazy Lane Cottages in Marblehead for many years and in her earlier days she helped at the family business, Michel's Bakery. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and her special card club which had been playing together since high school.

She led a wonderful life and was one that was always there for her family and friends, just a phone call away. She truly loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hershey's Chocolate lost their best customer, for she was a true chocolate lover.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Riedy (Nov. 6, 2007); parents, Joseph A. and Blanche T. (Meyer) Michel; brothers, Eugene, Carl and Ed Michel; sister, Virginia Erney; and three grandchildren.
