Shirley M. Springer, 72, of Norwalk, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.
She was born June 21, 1936, in Norwalk, and was valedictorian in 1954 at Milan High School. She worked most of her life on the family farm located between Norwalk and Milan, and was a former cook at the Crown Restaurant. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was a kind caregiver.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford E. Springer of Norwalk; children, James (Sandy) Springer of Norwalk, Karen (Alfred) Percival of Berlin Heights and Jeffery (Peggy) Springer of Norwalk; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Lockwood of Norwalk and Beverly (Richard) Finnen of Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Florence (Dietrich) Swicker; brothers, Eugene, George Sr., Howard and Robert; and a sister, Margaret. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until services at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Ave., Norwalk. The Rev. Mark Bogen, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Milan Cemetery.
