Opal Church Cordle, 82, of Jamestown, S.C., and formerly of Berlin Heights, died Friday evening, Aug. 8, 2008, in a North Charleston, S.C. hospital.
Mrs. Cordle was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Lowmansville, Ky., a daughter of Worth and Nora Charles Church. Mrs. Cordle was a retired machine operator for Van Dresser. She attended United Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are her daughter, Patty (Tommy) Mathis of Jamestown; two sons, Richard (Sue) Cordle of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Robert (Judy) Cordle of Clarksville, Ohio; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Cordle of Berlin Heights; and two brothers, Fred Church of Huron and Worth Church Jr. of Wakeman.
Mrs. Cordle was the widow of Denver Cordle and was preceded in death by her grandson, Edward Cordle; sister, Lou Verne McKnight; and two brothers, Homer and Okel Church.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday in Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, Berlin Heights. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
