Marguerite J. "Peg" Nickoli, 84, of Norwalk, died early Tuesday morning, Aug. 5, 2008, in Norwalk Memorial Home.
She was born March 8, 1924, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, daughter of the late Wayne and Marie (Durieux) Lewis and came to the Norwalk area in 1942 from Mount Vernon. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher. She was a former day-care teacher at Norwalk Alliance Church, and was activities director for Twilight Gardens Home, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed drawing, crafts, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Stanley D. (Nancy) Nickoli, and Kevin L. (Linda) Nickoli, both of Norwalk; her daughter-in-law, Lois Nickoli Saxton of Detroit; eight grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert A. Nickoli, in 1979, and by her sons, Douglas A. Nickoli and Terrence W. Nickoli.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Calvary Baptist Church, 250 Benedict Ave., Norwalk. The Rev. James McClain will officiate. Burial will be in Meadowgreen Memorial Park, Huron.
