Emma D. Gowitzka, 95, formerly of Castalia, died Monday morning, Aug. 4, 2008, in Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky.
She was born Feb. 12, 1913, in Vickery, and was former co-owner of Gowitzka Fisheries. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Castalia.
Emma is survived by two daughters, Norma Shelley of Sandusky and Nancy Daniels of Sarasota, Fla.; son, Robert (Marge) Gowitzka of Poplar, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Gowitzka of Vickery; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther in 1985; son, Arthur; parents, Albert and Rachael (Bell) Burr; two grandsons; three sisters; and eight brothers.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. today until services at 11 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia; the Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery. Ransom Funeral Home, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements.
