Burton L. Zellner, 81, Sandusky, died Monday evening, Aug. 4, 2008, surrounded by family in Firelands Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
He was born in Tiffin, Ohio, May 10, 1927. He was a tool and die maker for 30 years, retiring from Ford Motor Company in Sandusky in 1993.
Burton was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio for more than 50 years. He was devoted to his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy, and their children, Deborah, Judy, and the late Jeanne, his grandson Corey and wife Darcie Bammer, and great-grandchildren Morgan, Collin and Ethan.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Hoover) Zellner; two daughters, Deborah Wood, Sandusky, and Judy Zellner, Sandusky; grandson, Corey (Darcie) Bammer, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Collin, and Ethan; twin brother, Berlin (Jo) Zellner, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanne Zellner; parents, James and Mary (Snyder) Zellner; brothers, Pearl, Glenn, Ben and Bobby Zellner; and sister, Eunice Mary Wilson.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home; Pastor Robert J. Machovic Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery.
