Camille M. Ackerman, 77, Huron, died Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center surrounded by her family.
She was born March 28, 1931, in Sandusky. She was a 1949 graduate of Sandusky High School. She attended Fremont Beauty School in Fremont and was a licensed hairdresser. She was a job coach at Double S Industries for 15 years.
She was past president of the women’s auxiliary of the IAB Club and was a volunteer at the Erie County Care Facility.
Camille is survived by her daughters, Francene Ackerman-Faulkner, Columbus, Ohio, and Renee (Tom) Ackerman-Harnsberger, Pacific Palisades, Calif.; sons, Mark A. (Carolyn) Ackerman, Sandusky, Kim A. Ackerman, San Francisco, and Christopher J. (Peggy) Ackerman, Columbus; nine grandchildren, Damion, Nick, Rachael, Jessica, Cole, Cara, Jordana, Brooke and Jordan; and sister, Shirley Gosser.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin “Frank” Ackerman, Dec. 17, 2005; and parents, Anthony and Frances M. (Lazzara) D’Amario.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky; the Rev. Ken Lill will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Groff Funeral Home, Sandusky, is in charge of arrangements.
