MARGARET LOIS WEAVER
NOV. 15, 1921-JULY 25, 2008
Margaret Lois Weaver, 86, formerly of Berlin Heights and Vermilion passed away Friday, July 25, 2008, after a stroke and heart failure.
Marge was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Berlin Heights, to Fred and Lillian Hast. She married Jack Weaver and they raised their three children in Berlin Heights and Vermilion, moving to Tucson in 1980.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband Jack, in 1998; her parents; sister, Irene; and brother, Fred.
She is survived by her children, John (Ann) Weaver of Naples, Fla., Rich (Martha) Weaver of Vermilion and Karen Martin of Tucson; six grandchildren, Amy and Bryan Weaver, Chris and Jeff Weaver, Kristin (Martin) Stutzman and Joshua Martin; seven beloved great-grandchildren, Emma, Luke, Maggie, Jake, John, Madyson and Mia; and many friends.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church, where she was very active in quilting, card-recycling, knitting prayer shawls and other women’s groups. She was also an active member of the Red Hat Society and looked forward to her twice-weekly workouts at Gold’s Gym. She was independent, living alone until the time of her death. Her friends knew that she was neat-as-a-pin, intensely loyal, and extremely committed to her family, friends and church activities. She had a quick-wit and great sense of humor, always quick to laugh. She loved to travel, quilt, knit and read and was an avid U of A and Diamond Backs fan.
There will be a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. Aug. 9 at St. Mark’s Methodist Church at La Canada and Magee, in the Chapel. There will be a reception following the service provided by her quilting friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Marge’s name to TMC Hospice Peppi’s House, 5301 E. Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712, and the Southern Arizona Humane Society, 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85716.
