John E. Eckenrod, 72, of Norwalk, died early Sunday morning, July 27, 2008, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born March 14, 1936, in Cleveland, son of the late Clarence and Ruby (Walker) Eckenrod, and came to the Norwalk area in 1960. He was a retired truck driver for W.L. Mead Trucking Company, Wikel Bulk Express, Industrial Powder Coating Company, and had driven his own milk route. He enjoyed computers, H.O. model trains, classical music, his CB radio, with his handle “Music Man”, and was a Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns Fan.
He is survived by his wife, Rose (Ward) Eckenrod of Norwalk; his sons, Michael (Vicki) Eckenrod of Attica, Ohio, Chris Eckenrod of Norwalk, Mark Eckenrod of Hunnewell, Mo., and David Eckenrod of Norwalk; by his daughter, Dana (Alan) Smith of Hunnewell; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.
