Elizabeth A. Miller, 85, of Monroeville, died unexpectedly Friday evening, July 25, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
She was born April 23, 1923, in Norwalk. She was a 1941 graduate of Monroeville High School and a 1944 graduate of the former M.B. Johnson School of Nursing, Elyria. Elizabeth was employed at the old Norwalk Memorial Hospital for many years and in the office of Dr. James E. Walker and Dr. Jack L. Walker until her retirement.
She was a very active member of Congregational Community United Church of Christ, Monroeville, Women's and Adult Fellowship group of the Church, Satin Gavel at Nugents Canal Yacht Club of Port Clinton, Golden Eagles, Wisdom Group and Red Hat Society. She loved to dance, play cards and socialize with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue (Thomas) Lund of Monroeville; two sons, Thornton (Kay) Miller of Dallas, Texas and Scott (Teresa) Miller of Monroeville; and six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Eldon B. Miller, Dec. 3, 2007; and her parents, William and Maria (Clayton) Stotz.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Congregational Community United Church of Christ, 29 Chapel St., Monroeville; the Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
