George Karl Haney (Hoehne), 50, of Lewis Center, Ohio, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1957, in Sandusky. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1976, The Ohio State University in 1981, and Otterbein College in 1998. He was employed by Columbus Public Schools at Champion Middle School.
He was a wonderful husband and father and his best times were spent with his family and friends, enjoying the sports of his sons, encouraging them and supporting them in swimming and soccer. George had a big personality and was quick with a story, and he always had a story to tell. Friend to all, George touched people in many walks and had a wide circle of friends who will miss the time he made for each of them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Cindi Manion Haney; sons, Andrew, 18, Jay, 17, and Brad, 14, all at home; parents, George and Anna Hoehne of Sandusky; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Naomi and Robert Manion of Brookfield, Ohio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Diane Manion of Hubbard, Ohio; and nieces, Carly, Casey and Emily.
Friends may call 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Ohio. Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Heritage Christian Church, 7413 Maxtown Road, Westerville; Pastor Richard Johnson officiating. Interment in Africa Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Education Fund for Andy, Jay and Brad, in care of Fifth Third Bank.
