Karen Laverne (Malicky) Leuszler, 62, of Berlin Heights, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008, after an extended illness.
Karen was manager of Fashion Bug in Sandusky for many years. She was a Girl Scout troop leader in Berlin Heights when her daughter was young.
She was a gifted artist who excelled in tole painting, beading, and scrapbooking. Her exquisite dolls were exhibited in many juried art shows throughout Ohio. She had a talent for making each project come alive with her flair.
Karen had a kind heart and brought joy to others through her thoughtfulness and humor. She was the major caregiver of her mother for many years and guardian of her grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her beloved and devoted husband, Harold "Tiny," who was her primary caregiver for many years; daughter, Melissa of Cleveland; grandchildren, Oriana and Finnigan of Berlin Heights; sister, Arlene of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Melba and Harold of Vermilion; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Deb and Dan of Vermilion and Georgia and Lynn of Atlanta, Ga.; nephew, David; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ann and Oscar Malicky; brother-in-law, George; and her loving pets, Oscar and Little Bit.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. Monday until service at 7 p.m. in Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St., Berlin Heights; the Rev. Denis St. Marie will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date in Riverside Cemetery.
