Carol Ann Weikel, 68, of Catawba Island, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at her home.
She was born Nov.. 26, 1939, in Clyde, to Louis and Gertrude E. (Beier) Snyder. Carol Ann was a former flight attendant for United Airlines, and for Raychem in San Mateo, Calif., where she lived for 20 years. She returned to Port Clinton in 1987, where she worked at The Garden Restaurant and Wal-Mart for 15 years until her retirement.
Carol Ann was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She enjoyed playing the piano, fishing and traveling. Carol Ann loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving is her daughter, Lisa Ann (Jim) Jenkinson of Medina, Ohio; son, Steven (Annie) Weikel of San Mateo; grandchildren, Christine Jenkinson, Nicole Jenkinson, and Sibylle Weikel; sister, Jeanne (Jim) Walter of Fremont; and brothers, James (Connie) Snyder and Robert (Linda) Snyder, both of Catawba Island.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Gertrude Snyder; sister, Mary Ellen Fox; and nephew, Mark Fox.
Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday in Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton; the Rev. Raymond Ensman will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in memory of Carol Ann be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Stein Hospice.
