Anna I. Markovits, 89, of Huron, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 8, 1919, in New York, daughter of Samuel and Karolina Bogad. She married the Rev. Paul Markovits on Sept. 6, 1941. He preceded her in death.
In service to the Lord, she and her husband resided in Windsor, Ontario; Lyons, N.Y.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Carmichaels-Masontown, Pa. Since his death she has lived with her daughter and family in Upper Sandusky, Ohio; and Huron.
Surviving are her children, Carol Ann (Henry) Markovits-Goehring, Huron; Paul S. (Leslie) Markovits, St. Louis, Mo.; and Timothy G. (Mary) Markovits of Mt. Joy, Pa.; grandchildren, Sarah B. Markovits, Tamera (Jeff) Markovits Wilcox, Nathaniel E. Goehring, Kathryn A. Markovits and T. Paul Markovits; two sisters, Ethel Brachna and Gizella Bogad; and nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, in Zion Lutheran Church, Huron. Interment will be at Jacob Lutheran Church Cemetery, Masontown, Pa. at a later date. Foster Funeral Home, Huron, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Prayer Path at Zion Lutheran Church or Shepherds Fund, 930 S. Main St., Huron, OH 44839, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
