John Lester Wild, 93, formerly of Sandusky and currently of Albany, Ga., passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008, in Albany Health Care in Albany.
A native of Sandusky, Mr. Wild resided in Albany since 2003. John was born in Sandusky, Dec. 23, 1914, and was a graduate of Sandusky High School. He was employed by American Crayon Co., and worked with John Thiede Plumbing and Heating. He was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church. His hobbies included bowling, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and long walks around his beloved Sandusky.
He is survived by his sister, Ruth McPeek of Albany; nephew, Steven Dilts, and his wife, Laurie of Albany; great-nephew, Erik Dilts, and his wife, Kristi of Shreveport, La.; great-niece, Caren Dilts of Athens, Ga.; and great-grandniece, Dresden Dilts of Shreveport.
Mr. Wild was preceded in death by his father, John Wild; mother, Theresa Marquardt; and sisters, Irene Heinz and Betty Thiede.
Graveside service for John Lester Wild will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky; the Rev. John Mawhirter will officiate. Local arrangements entrusted to David F. Koch Funeral Home, Sandusky.
