Dolores A. “Dolly” Bondy, 77, of Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008, in St. Francis Nursing Home in Tiffin.
She was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Tacoma, Wash., daughter of the late Margaret and Thaddeus Thun. She graduated from Buckley High School in Buckley, Wash., in 1949. She proudly served two years in the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1951.
She married Robert T. Bondy, April 28, 1951, in Ft. Lawton, Wash. They relocated to Monroe, Mich., and later settled in Bellevue. Dolores devoted her life to taking care of their special-needs daughter, Rebecca, and playing bingo. She was a proud member of American Legion Post 83 in Sandusky.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Russell Bondy Bellevue and Robert (Sallie) Bondy of Puyallup, Wash.; four daughters, Robin Seamon of Bellevue, Rebecca Bondy of Bellevue, Renee (John) Mani of Temperance, Mich., and Annette (Terry) Reichert of Fostoria, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Thun of Bonney Lake, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews in Washington state and beyond.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Gretchen Brockway, June Mildon, Freda Blow and Lillian Panchot; and brother, John Thun.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday in Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, with burial to follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
