Ida Mae Mildred King, 88, Sandusky, died Sunday, July 20, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Sandusky, Sept. 18, 1919. She was employed by Firelands Hospital and was a supervisor at the former Philco Corporation.
She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, where she was past Matron, and Mothers for Christ. Ida Mae volunteered for Red Cross, Senior Center and Harborview. She loved helping people and was a very giving person.
Ida Mae is survived by her children, Earlene (George) Butler, Veronica (Robert) Johnson, Ida Mae Mildred Durr, Quentin (Fredia) King and Earl (Arleen) King, all of Sandusky, Yvonne (Robert) Weatherspoon, St. Petersburg, Fla., and David (Marsha) Kromer, Cleveland; 21 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Earl King, May 15, 1962; son, Timothy King; sisters, Thelma Hulin and Marcella Rice; and brothers, Gordon Clemens and Elwood Clemens.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky; the Rev. Paul Bupe will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
