Frances L. Galloway, 90, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, July 21, 2008, at her home after a brief illness.
She was born in Fremont, Sept. 24, 1917, and was a 1936 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She retired in 1978 from New-Departure Hyatt (Division of General Motors) where she worked for nearly 30 years. She loved having family gatherings and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a true fan of the Cleveland Indians and she loved watching them; she also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, gardening, crocheting and raising her canaries.
She is survived by her family, Thomas (Sue) Galloway of Sandusky, Peggy (William) Myers of Huron, Richard (Janice) Galloway of Berlin Heights, Dennis (Sally) Galloway of Sandusky, Sandra (Ben) Haughawout of Sandusky, Tami (Nyle) Olds of Sandusky; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Celia Oswald of Sandusky, Dolores Morris of Columbus, Ohio, and Patricia Laux of Sandusky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Ashley A. Galloway, June 10, 1993; parents, Frank and Mabel (Schock) Naderer; two sisters, Rosalyn Missig and Lois Beverick; and three brothers, Robert, Aaron and Frank Naderer.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky; the Rev. Philip Feltman will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
