Diane M. (Colahan) Henderson, 73, of Norwalk, and formerly of Monroeville, died early Friday morning, July 13, 2012, in Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk, following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 5, 1938, in Norwalk, daughter of the late Herschel and Doris (Fox) Colahan. Diane was a 1956 graduate of Monroeville High School and a 1964 graduate of Bowling Green State University. She taught grade school and was the elementary librarian for 30 years at Monroeville Public Schools, retiring in 1988. Upon retirement, she worked at Monroeville Public Library for many years.
Diane was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville; State Teachers Association; Huron County Retired Teachers; Bellevue VFW Auxiliary; and the Monroeville American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by three brothers, David (Susie) Colahan, of Columbus, Phil (Rae) Colahan, of Norwalk, and Brian (Dolores) Colahan, of Milan; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Henderson in 2005; her parents; and one brother Mark Colahan in 1997.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville. The Rev. William Pifher will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
