Gladys M. Harple, 92, of Sandusky, died late Monday evening, July 7, 2008, in Admiral's Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Huron, following a brief illness.
She was born May 12, 1916, in Perkins Township. She was employed as the cafeteria manager for Margaretta Public Schools until her retirement.
Prior to this, she worked at the former Stokes Meat Market in Castalia and the former Barr Rubber Company in Sandusky. Her hobbies included crocheting, baking, and keeping in touch with her friends from the school.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Malcolm) Riggle of Huron and Karen Remy of Toledo, Ohio; son, Robert E. (Gayle) Harple of Belleville, Mich.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. "Red" Harple Sr. in 2003; her parents, Abraham and Katherine (Hineline) Guenther; four sisters and one brother.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave. Family funeral services will be Friday in Meadow Green Memorial Park Chapel with the Rev.Kathleen Suggitt, of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating.
Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park Mausoleum.
