Lloyd Whitehead, 88, of Norwalk, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Manchester, Ky., son of the late Alvin and Alice (Eversol) Whitehead. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He worked at Ford Motor Co. on the assembly line for 31 years.
He was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wild Cats and Cleveland sports teams. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting in his earlier years.
He is survived by his wife Joyce (Gregory) Whitehead, of Norwalk; children, Roy Glenn (Vivian) Whitehead, Bobbie Gail (Matthew) Whitehead-Kean and Wayne (Barbara) Whitehead, all of Norwalk; five grandchildren; a stepgrandson; three great-grandchildren; and brother Bill (Bessie) Whitehead, of Garrard, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer Whitehead, Ted Whitehead, Renis Whitehead and Roy Whitehead; and sisters, Ruby Whitehead, Mettie Griffin and Edith Webb.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, until service at 1 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
