Scott Michael Burrows, 47, of Clearwater, Fla., died Saturday, June 21, 2008.
Scott was born Nov. 24, 1960, in Sandusky, to Norman Burrows Sr., Sandusky, and Shirley Fouts Burrows, Clearwater, both Sandusky High School graduates. Scott was a 1979 graduate of Portsmouth High School, Portsmouth, Ohio, where he lettered in football and baseball, and helped win the 1978 Ohio State AA Basketball Championship. He attended The Ohio State University on a Buckeye football scholarship. He was a devoted Buckeye fan every day of his life.
Scott worked for Paradyne in Largo, Fla. from 1984-2005, and finished his career at Honeywell in Clearwater. His many hobbies included attending Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Lightning games as well as playing hockey and camping. His greatest passion was the constant pursuit of landing a big saltwater game fish he dubbed Osama bin Snook. Scott's friends knew him as the "SnookMaster."
Scott is survived by his wife, Jennifer Graves Burrows; children, Scott Burrows Jr. and Matthew Daniels, all of Clearwater; siblings, Norm Burrows Jr. of Tampa, Fla., Cindy Burrows Dyer of Spring, Texas, and John Burrows of Clearwater. Abbey Affordable Cremation and Funeral Services, of Largo, is in charge of arrangements.
There will be a service in Scott's memory at 6 p.m. Thursday in Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, Fla., with a reception following at the Burrows' Clearwater residence.
