Sophia L. "Sally" (Martin) Andres, 96, of Sandusky, passed away late Monday evening, June 16, 2008, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky, after an illness.
She was born June 4, 1912, in Venice, and was a 1930 graduate of Margaretta High School. She worked at Philco for many years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky, Orioles Club and was a former member of the Senior Women of the YMCA.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Joan Etherington of Huron, Pat Swartz of Sandusky, Dudley (Martha) Andres of South Caroline, Karl (Phyllis) Andres, Jean (John) Leimeister and Alice (Tim) Sheldon, all of Sandusky, Sally (Joe) Verhoff of Bellevue and Joel Andres of Castalia; and many other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Andres, in 1993; parents, Mason and Carolena (Mack) Martin; five sisters, Martha Selke, Catherine Deleruyelle, Pearl A. "Pam" Andres and two in infancy; and two brothers, Arthur and John Martin.
At her request there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Philip Feltman will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
