Ronald R. Rogers, 79, of Norwalk, died Tuesday afternoon, June 17, 2008, in Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
He was born June 28, 1928, in Lorain, son of the late Maurice D. and Bertha (Delarber) Rogers and came to this area in 1942 from Lorain. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1988. He was a former member of Firelands Post 2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars;, Norwalk, Eagles Aerie 711 of Norwalk and Norwalk Bronson Conservation Club. He retired from NASA in 1989 after working in Sandusky and Cleveland. He enjoyed bicycle riding, gardening and yard work, reading and remodeling.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Theresa M. (DiAntonio) Rogers of Norwalk; by his son Ronald R. (Jennifer) Rogers II of Sandusky; and grandchildren, Farrah Rogers, Kerri Rogers, Kayla Rogers, and Kassandra Rogers.
Services were Wednesday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Internment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
