Benjamin Miller, 21, of Berlin Heights, died Sunday morning, June 15, 2008, following a tragic boating accident.
He was born July 15, 1986, in Sandusky, and was a 2004 graduate of Edison High School. He was a member of 4-H for 10 years where he raised pigs and chickens, and restored a tractor. He played baseball his whole life, as well as football, and lettered in both sports. He attended BGSU Firelands Campus for a year. He worked in several capacities in the construction industry, most recently for Newcomer Concrete in Norwalk. He was always willing to share his skills with his friends when they needed help. Everyone who met him thought of him as one of the most likable, respectful men they met. His demeanor and personality attracted people who wanted to be his friend forever. They described him as one of the most loyal, honest people they knew.
He is survived by his parents, Steve and Debbie (Hoag, Shane) Miller; sister, Amanda Shane, and her daughter, Cassie, of Huron; his girlfriend, Emily Jones of Norwalk; maternal grandparents, Pat and George Hoag of Berlin Heights; paternal grandparents, Dave and Marion Miller of Alabama; maternal great-grandmothers, Pauline Ward and Olive Hoag, both of Berlin Heights; and many aunts and uncles, and a vast multitude of friends.
Friends may call 2-9 p.m. Friday in Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St., Berlin Heights. There will be a memorial gathering for family and friends at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Scout House, 3600 Halfway Road, Norwalk; everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite pictures to share.
