Robert E. Heinrichs, 74, of Attica, died Monday, June 9, 2008, in Mercy Hospital, Willard.
He was born March 6, 1934, in Tiffin, to Clarence and Helen (Boes) Heinrichs. On July 7, 1956, he married Jane A. Schueler in St. Stephens, and she survives in Attica.
Robert was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica and Fr. Anthony Teolis Council 3062 Knights of Columbus in Attica. He was a 1952 graduate of Attica High School, active with Seneca Athletic Boosters and Little League Baseball. He was a former Seneca East School Board Member, councilman for the Village of Attica, a former member of the Attica Lions Club and Attica Eagles. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Heinrichs retired in 1995 from Timken in Bucyrus where he was employed as a shipper. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Dr. Jeff R. (Jan) Heinrichs of Waterville, Ohio, and Gregory G. (Carolyn) Heinrichs of Napoleon, Ohio; daughter, Lise R. Heinrichs of Toledo; six grandchildren, Amanda M. Holden of Chicago, Curtis R. Heinrichs of Columbus, Ohio, Andrew J. Heinrichs of Waterville, Bradley G. Heinrichs of Napoleon, Audra J. Heinrichs of Waterville, and Aaron M. Heinrichs of Napoleon; and brother, Thomas J. (Kay) Heinrichs of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard J. Heinrichs; his parents; and sister, Bonnie Heinrichs.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica; the Rev. Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery. Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, Bloomville, is in charge of arrangements.
