Allison Kaye “Allie” Ansted, 23, of Lindsey, Ohio, died Sunday, June 8, 2008.
She was born May 2, 1985, in Toledo to William J. and Barbara (Steele) Ansted. Allie graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 2003 and also Capital University, suma cum laude with double majors in history and integrated social studies and double minors in German and political science with education credentials. She was substitute teaching in Fremont and Gibsonburg Middle and High schools. Allie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg.
She loved education, traveling, spending time with her family, and practical jokes and all things German; she loved to laugh. Allie was planning her wedding to Matt. She had lived in Germany two different times, once as an exchange student in 2002 and for a year, August 2005 to May 2006. She was planning to visit China this summer to teach English. Allie played in the band, loved music, was a photographer, and she loved kids. She cared very much for people.
Surviving are her mother and brother, Andrew “AJ” Ansted, both of Lindsey, and godson, Camden Mooney.
She was preceded in death by her father and fiancé, Matt Clearman.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg, and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until services at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church. Pastor Blair Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Harris-Elmore Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Zion Lutheran Church or to the Allison Ansted Scholarship Memorial Fund in care of 5/3 Bank.
